While the width is the same as the current Alto 800, the upcoming model will be 85mm longer, 45mm taller, with a wheelbase increase of 20mm. The increase in size and a gross weight of 1,150kg can be attributed to the new modular Heartect platform that the new Alto K10 is based on. Â

2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto: engine, variants
As we’ve reported before, powering the new hatchback will be the 1.0-litre, K10C DualJet unit with idle start/stop tech that produces 67hp and 89Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. This powertrain set-up is also offered on the S-Presso and Celerio. Meanwhile, the 48hp, 0.8-litre engine will only be reserved for the ongoing, current-gen Alto 800, for now. Like with other Maruti Suzuki vehicles, the upcoming Alto K10 is expected to come in CNG guise as well.
It will have a total of 12 variants at launch; eight will be manual – STD, STD(O), LXI, LXI(O), VXI, VXI(O), VXI+ and VXI+(O) – and four automatic, VXI, VXI(O), VXI+, and VXI+(O).
