Veteran actor Sujata Mehta recently talked about Sridevi, when she also recalled the latter’s relationship with Mithun Chakraborty. In a conversation on the YouTube channel Hindi Rush, Sujata mentioned that Sridevi and Mithun were madly in love with each other and therefore, the ‘Mr. India’ actress was left ‘distraught’ after they broke up.
“She used to be so distraught, but she was so professional. The moment the camera turned on, she belonged only to the camera. But after the shot, she would sit quietly in a corner,” Sujata recalled and then added, “They were madly in love.”

They also have two sons Mimoh Chakraborty and Namashi Chakraborty.
Reports claim that in 1987 when Boney Kapoor grew closer to Sridevi, Mithun’s wife Yogeeta Bali learnt about his alleged indiscretion. Boney Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty’s friendship was also allegedly strained after this. It was said that Sridevi filed for an annulment in 1988 and separated from Mithun.
Back then, Mithun was asked in an interview if he ever laid eyes upon another woman after he got married. The actor said, “Sab hi aurat ki taraf nazar uthaake dekhta hoon lekin acchi neeyat se.” When asked if the rumours about him were true, he said some were true and some false. “I’m the most… married bachelor,” he said. When asked if the rumours about his ‘secret marriage’ with Sridevi were true, he said, “Voh mujhe nahi pata. No comment.”
