Veer Pahariya’s iconic one-leg hookstep from the song Rang, featured in the patriotic action thriller Sky Force, created a buzz online. And it looks like the Rang fever is far from over! Recently, Karan Johar’s “students” Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan were spotted grooving to the high-energy track at Maddock Films’ star-studded 20th-anniversary celebration in Mumbai.
In an inside video, shared on Instagram, both Sidharth and Varun are seen performing the viral one-leg step on the dance floor along with Veer and other renowned Bollywood faces like Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan.
Sung by Satinder Sartaj and Zahrah S Khan, the song was penned by Shloke Lal and featured Veer, Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur. On YouTube, it has been viewed more than 4 crore times.
Earlier, Veer faced a lot of social media backlash for his dance step. However, reacting to trolls, the actor said in an interview with Hautterfly, “I love it; I live for it. My entire life, I’ve looked up to actors who are trolled, have lookalikes, and become memes. Now, I’ve become a meme. Who knew me twenty days ago? Now if I langdi (limp) here, they’ll recognise me.”
He added, “Ever since the song was released and went viral, my engagement skyrocketed and new opportunities emerged. I’ve already performed at two weddings.”
Helmed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kelwani, Sky Force marked Veer’s Bollywood debut. Produced by Maddock Films, the historical war film is centred around India’s first airstrike at the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistan air war of 1965.
Coming back to Maddock’s 20th anniversary celebration, the production house hosted a star-studded bash in Mumbai. Apart from Varun and Sidharth, other celebs who arrived at the party include Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, Aditya Roy Kapur, Triptii Dimri, Agastya Nanda, Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur and Ananya Panday among others.
The Dinesh Vijan-owned production company is known for bankrolling big-budget films like Cocktail, Stree 2, Chhaava, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Love Aaj Kal, Munjya, Hindi Medium, Angrzi Medium and others.
On the work front, Sidharth will be next seen in the romantic drama Param Sundari, while Varun has Karan Johar’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Border 2 and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai in his kitty.
