While most inmates settled into their routine behind bars, one high-profile prisoner was quietly ushered out of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, under the cover of darkness. Sean Diddy Combs, the rap mogul once celebrated for his chart-topping hits and lavish lifestyle, was transported to a nearby hospital late last week for medical care, an event that was carefully kept out of the public eye. Around 10 pm last Thursday, Combs was reportedly taken from the notorious federal lockup to Brooklyn Hospital, where he underwent an MRI scan.
The decision to move the 55-year-old music icon was made due to an ongoing knee pain, an issue he’s battled for years, reportedly stemming from his participation in the New York City Marathon. “His knee was bothering him,” a source explained to The Post, adding that the test was approved to assess his condition.
Authorities went to great lengths to ensure the trip remained discreet. According to insiders, the timing of the hospital visit was deliberate, scheduled for late at night to minimise attention from other inmates and facility staff. The entire process was handled swiftly, with Combs returning to his cell immediately after the scan. He did not stay overnight.
When pressed for details, the Bureau of Prisons remained tight-lipped. A spokesperson said, “For privacy, safety and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for anyone in our custody to include medical status or medical trips.”
Despite the secrecy surrounding his medical visit, law enforcement officials were given a heads-up beforehand. One source noted that authorities were informed, “Just in case it was leaked and they would have chaos.” Combs’ legal team and representatives have not issued any statements regarding the hospital visit.
According to the New York Post, The Bad Boy Records founder has been incarcerated at MDC since December 3 after being denied bail on a slew of federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering and prostitution. Prosecutors allege that for over a decade, Combs operated his music empire as a criminal enterprise, coercing women into what court documents describe as “Freak-Offs” — extended sexual encounters with male escorts while he observed and secretly recorded them for leverage.
Sean Diddy Combs has denied all allegations. His highly anticipated trial is set to begin on May 5.
