Did you know Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Bijlani went to school together? Ranbir and Arjun were not only classmates but also played on the same football team. When Ranbir Kapoor was promoting Shamshera, he made an appearance on the show Ravivaar With Star Parivaar and made this revelation.
Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Bijlani both studied at the Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. Ranbir said on the show, “Log jaante nahi hai yeh magar hum ek dusre ko bachpan se jaante hain (people might not know that we know each other since childhood).”
He continued to express his happiness to see the Naagin actor grow in the industry. Ranbir said, “The fact that you are a father, and you are such a good host. It is really heartwarming to see a colleague of mine, a friend of mine do so well.” Ranbir then shared a wholesome moment with Arjun where he lifted and hugged him.
At the time when Ranbir made this revelation, fans of the actors were happily surprised. However, Arjun Bijlani then told ETimes that he didn’t want to make the revelation himself as they were on set to work. “I adore that as an actor, he is amazing. I felt at that time he was coming on the show to promote his film and though I am his childhood friend, we don’t need to show that,” he mentioned.
Arjun clarified that he did not tell his production house to plan the moment between Ranbir and him. Arjun revealed that the moment was very spontaneous, coming from Ranbir and he would cherish the moment forever. “It was very spontaneous and I never brought it up, I was just doing my job and was saying something. Suddenly, he stopped me and said it on his own,” he added.
Arjun said, “Now, I have a memory to say with my childhood friend. He is doing so well in his life and is a big superstar. It was a great feeling and everyone on the sets got emotional. It was really special.”
Ranbir Kapoor kick-started his career with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007 and Arjun Bijlani made his debut with Balaji Telefilms’ television show Kartika in 2004. Both friends have become masters of craft in their industries.
