Rajkummar Rao’s old interview with Samdish Bhatia on UNFILTERED is going viral. Despite financial stability, he still has EMIs. He and wife Patralekhaa launched KAMPA Films.

Rajkummar Rao talks about his financial condition.

An old interview of Rajkummar Rao discussing his financial situation is going viral on the internet, sparking conversations about the realities of success in Bollywood. In the clip, Rajkummar is seen in conversation with Samdish Bhatia on his show UNFILTERED by Samdish, where he is asked about the kind of money he has made so far.

Reacting rather candidly, he mentions that he isn’t as wealthy as people assume him to be. He explains that while he is financially stable, it’s not like he can walk into a showroom and buy something worth Rs 6 crores on a whim. He adds that he still has EMI commitments and carefully considers big purchases.

Rajkummar Rao says, “Yaar, itna paisa hai nahi jitna I am sure logon ko lagta hoga. Ke bhai, iska toh bohot paisa hai, sau crore. Nahi hai itna. Bhai, EMI chal rahi hai, ghar liya hai, uski EMI chal rahi hai achha khaasa. Toh matlab, aisa bhi nahi hai ki bilkul nahi hai, aur aisa bhi nahi hai ki bohot hai. Aisa nahi hai ki aaj mann kiya toh showroom mein jaake, ‘Kitne ki hai ye?’—‘Woh sir, 6 crore ki’—‘De de.’ Aisa wala nahi hai.”

Samdhish then said, “Par agar 50 lakh ki hai—De de?” To this Rajkummar Rao says, “50 lakh ki hai—‘De de,’ lekin discussion hoga uspe. Le toh sakte hain, le le kya? 20 lakh ki hai toh le sakte hain.”

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao and wife and actress Patralekhaa have taken a major step in their cinematic journey by launching their very own production house, KAMPA Films. The move reflects their deep passion for storytelling and marks a new chapter in their already illustrious careers.

Unlike many celebrity production houses named after their founders, KAMPA Films carries a deeply personal significance. The name is a heartfelt tribute to their families, as it is derived from the initials of their mothers’ names. This thoughtful gesture underscores their gratitude for the values and encouragement that shaped them into the artists they are today.
