Madhuri Dixit took a trip down memory lane to mark the 25th anniversary of her critically acclaimed film, Pukar.
Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit’s Pukar completed 25 years today. The Rajkumar Santoshi directorial remains a beloved classic. The film’s gripping storyline, soulful music and impeccable performances continue to resonate with audiences.
To mark the 25th anniversary of her critically acclaimed film, Madhuri Dixit took a trip down memory lane with a heartfelt post on social media. Sharing a still from the film, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actress recalled the experience of working on Pukar. In the post, she also expressed gratitude to her fans for the love and support the film continues to receive.
In a note posted on Instagram Stories, Madhuri Dixit wrote, “It feels incredible to celebrate 25 years of Pukar! This film holds a special place in my heart—not only because of the powerful story and the unforgettable experience of working with Anil Kapoor, Rajkumar Santoshi, and the entire team, but also because of the love it continues to receive from all of you. ‘Que Sera Sera’ remains a favourite event today! Thank you for keeping the magic alive. Here’s to timeless cinema!”
Pukar’s producer, Boney Kapoor, also joined in celebrating the milestone by sharing the film’s poster. The side note read, “25 years of this gem, winner of 2 national awards. Best Actor Anil Kapoor and Best Film. Missed out on Best Music & Best female Actor!!!!”
Speaking about Pukar, the film is a standout action thriller that was released in February 2000. Co-written and directed by the talented Rajkumar Santoshi, the movie featured an incredible cast, including Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Danny Denzongpa, Namrata Shirodkar, Shivaji Satam and Om Puri. Pukar showcased Madhuri in a powerful role as Anjali, while Anil Kapoor portrayed Major Jaidev Rajvansh.
Notably, Rajkumar Santoshi’s Pukar was honoured with two prestigious awards at the 48th National Film Awards. The first was the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, and the second was bagged by Anil Kapoor, who won the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Major Jaidev Rajvansh.
