Fans were quick to link Danielle’s status to Jungkook’s Instagram posts, interpreting the heart emojis as a possible nod to the NewJeans members, similar to the way Jungkook had used heart emojis in his own posts.

Fans have observed a notable change in NewJeans’ Danielle’s Phoning app profile shortly after BTS’s Jungkook shared some encouraging Instagram posts. The timing of this update has sparked considerable discussion online. As of September 14, 9:29 PM (KST), Danielle’s Phoning status read, “ur my sun (sic) on a cloudy (sic) day.” However, following Jungkook’s posts that same day, she reportedly updated her status to a collection of colourful heart emojis, It is now a “blue heart (sic), pink heart (sic), yellow heart (sic), green heart (sic), purple heart (sic) along with a sparkle (sic), blue cap (sic) and pink heart with an arrow (sic).”

Fans quickly connected Danielle’s new status to Jungkook’s Instagram posts, seeing the heart emojis as a nod to the NewJeans members, similar to what Jungkook had done on his Instagram. The use of the blue cap emoji, however, sparked a heated debate. Fans pointed out that this emoji is often linked to former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, who became well known for wearing a similar cap during a press conference following her dispute with HYBE, reports Koreaboo.

Take a look at it here:

Considering BIGHIT MUSIC’s statement, where they explained that Jungkook’s posts were intended to prevent younger artists from getting “dragged into disputes or used as shields,” some fans reportedly felt Danielle’s use of the blue cap emoji was a subtle show of support for Min Hee Jin, leading to a backlash.

Reactions to Danielle’s profile update have been mixed. While some fans criticised her for what they interpreted as support for Min Hee Jin, especially after Jungkook had stepped in to defend the group, others sympathised with her and the other young idols. Many feel they are too young to be caught up in the ongoing tensions between HYBE and Min.

“You guys keep forgetting that they’re being groomed and being manipulated obviously they still believe that witch is their savior,” wrote a fan.

“Jungkook showed support to them to stop adults from using them as shields and stop abusing artists by posting 5 hearts and her response is posting a hat next to the hearts to show support to the very same adults who use them as shields. they don’t deserve Jungkook’s kindness,” wrote another user.

“Does this Danielle girl ever get tired of advocating for mhj? shouldn’t she be grateful that the main pop boy showed his solidarity w her group?? this is absurdly disrespectful towards Jungkook’s statement,” commented another user.

This incident grabbed attention soon after Jungkook shared a post on his dog Bam’s Instagram account. The image included five hearts in different colours, which many believe represented the members of NewJeans – Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein—styled like the Powerpuff Girls.

Along with the hearts, Jungkook added a flexing biceps emoji to signify strength and his caption read, “Artists are not guilty.”

Many netizens reportedly saw this as a quiet show of support for NewJeans amidst the ongoing controversy. The situation revolves around the fallout from Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR and her departure from the company.
