Mini Mathur celebrated her 27th wedding anniversary with Kabir Khan by sharing throwback photos and a heartfelt post. She reminisced about their simple wedding, unfazed by religious differences.

Actor-host Mini Mathur, on Friday, February 28, dropped a heartwarming post for her husband Kabir Khan on their 27th wedding anniversary. She shared throwback photos from their wedding and marriage registry, recalling simpler times. Mathur also wrote how they were unfazed by the “trappings of religious differences” while celebrating their union.
Mini Mathur started her note by stating how their wedding wasn’t about “Sabyasachi lehengas”, “wedding hashtags”, “exquisite sunset photos” or “bridal entry music”.
“But I do remember being deliriously happy, singing & dancing like a monkey surrounded by Kabirs extensive Khan-daan from Hyderabad, the entire Mathur clan & all our friends. That was a simpler time, with live shehnai and songs written & sung by my family… unencumbered by the trappings of religious differences or any kind of propriety,” wrote the Call Me Bae actor.
She further added, “We signed a register.. but went ahead and happily did all the cultural ceremonies from both sides anyway! I wore my naanis jewellery, my friend @vidyatikari did my make up and made a trendy cornrow hairstyle which created much confusion in the mandap as to which one to fill with sindoor. It took me an hour to take the pins off and i looked electrocuted on my wedding night.”
Mathur mentioned that she styled her own wedding outfits and their guests received an invitation via phone calls and wedding cards sent through postal mails. She further wrote about how they took the plunge without worrying about finding success in life. All they thought about was to experience life and its adventures together, she explained in her note.
“It still feels like 5 years ago honestly.. so can’t fathom how all this time has passed..
In all these years, what I have learnt is to focus on our similarities, not our differences. To keep a sense of humour (you need tons of it) and a short memory about things that don’t feel so good (lots of those too) And looks like we made it! Happy 27th to us @kabirkhankk,” wrote Mathur, while concluding her note with a recent photograph from this year. Here are their photos:
