Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV exterior, interior

The Maybach EQS SUV measures the same as the standard version of the SUV but with more bling and branding. The massive black grille panel now has vertical chrome-plated strips, creating the Maybach waterfall grille. Also, the panel, being made out of indium, allows radar beams to permeate through, so there’s no unsightly radar panel visible. The three-pointed star moves to the bonnet’s top. The SUV also gets a trademark Maybach dual-tone paint scheme, which is optional.

On the inside, it gets the same layout as the EQS SUV with a triple-screen display, but with Maybach-specific start-up sequences. The rear seat entertainment package comprises two 11.6-inch displays on the front seatbacks. It also comes with the MBUX tablet at the rear, which can also be used outside the vehicle.

The Maybach EQS SUV gets two optional packages, namely Chauffeur package and First-Class Rear package that includes thermal cup holders, a shelf for the MBUX rear tablet, four USB-C ports and two HDMI interfaces. Optional additions include folding tables, a cooling compartment, and silver-plated champagne goblets.

It can sprint from 0-100kph in just 4.4 seconds before topping out at 210kph. The EQS 680 has a WLTP-certified range of up to 611km on a single charge.

With the help of a 200kW DC fast charger, the Maybach EQS SUV’s 122kWh battery can be charged from 10-80% in 31 mins. Mercedes says that 300km of range can be achieved in 20 mins of charge. WIth no direct rivals, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS gives some competition to the Lotus Eletre – India’s most expensive electric SUV.
