Maruti Suzuki to enter in the mid-sized SUV category with its 2 all new sub- 4 meter SUVs.

Maruti Suzuki is expecting to recover top situation in the SUV class, which is overwhelmed by Hyundai Motor Company.

The organization plans 4 new SUVs including two pristine sub-4 meter SUVs and the cutting edge Vitara Brezza. Adding to it, Maruti Suzuki will enter in the fair sized SUV classification.

Suzuki and Toyota JV is preparing another fair sized SUV, codenamed D22 for the homegrown market, which is probably going to show up in 2022.

MARUTI JIMNY

Maruti Suzuki had showcased the 3-door Jimny mini off-roader at the Auto Expo 2020. However, the brand will introduce the 5-door model.

The company believes that the 3-door model will prove to be costlier for a price sensitive Indian market. It is expected to be launched in our market by July 2022.

The new model will ride on 300mm longer wheelbase, and the length of the SUV has been expanded by 300mm.

The spilled reports uncover that the new 5-entryway Jimny will quantify 3,850mm long, 1,645mm in width and 1,730mm in tallness.

The SUV will have a wheelbase of 2,550mm, while the ground leeway remains at 210mm. It will have a kerb weight of 1190kg, which is 100kgs higher than the 3-entryway Sierra.

It is relied upon to be fueled by a 1.5-liter K15B petroleum motor with gentle half and half framework.

This motor produces 100bhp of force and 130Nm of force. Transmission choices will incorporate a 5 speed manual and a 4-speed force convertor programmed.

MARUTI BALENO-BASED SUB-COMPACT SUV

Maruti Suzuki is working on a compact crossover, codenamed YTB for the Indian market. The new model will be positioned between the S-Presso and the Vitara Brezza.

To be based on the Baleno platform, the new subcompact SUV will directly rival the newly launched Tata Punch. The launch details are yet to be announced, but it is likely to be revealed sometime next year.

The new subcompact SUV is likely to be developed on the HEARTECT platform that’s said to be built with ultra and advanced high tensile steels.

It is likely to be powered by a 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that powers the Baleno and the Swift twins. This engine is likely to come with a mild hybrid system, which should improve its efficiency.
