59kWh and 79kWh battery packs
The Mahindra born-electric SUVs are available with two battery pack options – 59kWh and 79kWh – which are sourced from BYD. While both provide juice to a rear wheel drive (RWD) motor, peak power is 231hp in the 59kWh version and 286hp in the 79kWh version. Torque is identical for both, rated at 380Nm. Mahindra claims a 0-100kph time of 6.7 seconds for the BE 6 and 6.8 seconds for the XEV 9e.
Up to 683km range
On the ARAI cycle, the XEV 9e delivers a range of 542km with the smaller battery and 656km with the larger battery, while the BE 6 offers 557km and 683km, respectively. A lifetime warranty is offered on both batteries to first buyers of the electric vehicles.
