Farmers in Kottayam, Kerala, started the early harvesting of paddy crops for the current season. As per the farmers, the paddy yield for this season was good as farmers followed organic farming techniques. Farmers demanded the opening up of Thanneermukkom Bund, so that salty water could improve fertility in the area.
