Kartik Aaryan won the Best Actor (Male) for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at IIFA 2025 Awards.
Kartik Aaryan recently won big at the IIFA 2025 Awards, which took place last night in Jaipur. He won the Best Actor (Male) for his performance as Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Kartik was overwhelmed, and in his winning speech, he reflected on the challenges and uncertainties he faced in his career. He said that the whole journey with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise has been ‘full of thorns’, and that when he was first selected for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, many people questioned him and doubted him.
In his acceptance speech, Kartik Aaryan said, “I don’t have words right now. I am not Chandu, I am the champion. I know this is not an award for that film, but I have the same feeling.” He then added, “Bhool bhulaiyaa ki puri journey kaanton bhari rahi hai (The entire journey of Bhool Bhulaiyaa has been full of thorns).” He further added, “Mujhe pehli baar Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 ke liye select kiya gaya tha, tab bohot sawaal uthe the. Ki kya mere kandhon par ye film chal paayegi ya nahi chal paayegi? (When I was first selected for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, there were a lot of questions raised. People wondered whether this film would succeed on my shoulders or not).”
He also added that the team of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 faced uncertainties, and they were unsure whether they were releasing the film on the right day. This was likely in reference to his film’s clash with Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Again at the box office. “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 mein bohot cheezein hui thi jisme humein nahi pata tha ki hum sahi din pe aa paa rahe hain ya nahi aa rahe hain. (In Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, many things happened, and we weren’t sure if we were releasing the film on the right day or not),” said Kartik.
He said that there have always been many questions and doubts associated with this franchise. He then thanked the audience for always supporting him, and loving his performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3. “Thank you to the audience for always supporting the entire franchise and for giving so much love to both Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. This year, when the film was released during Diwali 2024, we were incredibly happy to see the love it received,” he said.
He went on to thank the film’s director Anees Bazmee, proucer Bhushan Kumar, Anil Thadani, co-stars Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra and others.
After winning the award, Kartik also shared pictures with the trophy. He also hinted at Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4, in his Instagram post. “MY FIRST IIFA BEST ACTOR LEADING ROLE BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 #ROOHBABA. IF AUDIENCE STANDS BY YOU NO ONE CAN STOP YOU FROM EMERGING A WINNER. The unforgettable thrilling journey of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 now seems complete with this jewel added to Rooh Baba’s crown.
