The Africa connection is very old. While the slave trade was a part of the story, India’s African link predates that, especially that of the Ethiopians-or Abyssinians as they were called back in the day-who were fantastic horsemen and fierce warriors and later saw India’s turbulent medieval politics as a golden opportunity.
