Hyundai Creta vs Volkswagen Virtus highway driving, reliability, efficiency, comfort -DellyRanks

The Virtus has better ride and handling, while the Creta offers a smoother driving experience.

I am looking for a petrol-automatic car with a maximum budget of Rs 20 lakh as a replacement for my Honda City. My monthly running is around 800km – 40 percent in the city and the rest on the highway. I have shortlisted the Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus, the Hyundai Creta IVT and the MG Hector CVT. With fuel efficiency and reliability as priorities, which is the best option within my budget?

Autocar India says: Since you predominantly drive on the highway, the Virtus GT is your best option for several reasons. The 1.5 TSI motor offers superb performance to make highway driving easy. Being a sedan, the Virtus also feels more stable than an SUV on the highway. Additionally, it has the best ride and handling in its class. The new Creta is a great city car with its CVT transmission, and the Hector is very spacious and comfortable, but neither offers the same sense of stability and reassurance at speed as the Virtus. On the flip side, though the Virtus is a good city car, its DCT gearbox is not as smooth as a CVT unit.
