House of the Dragon season 3 is in production with an eight-episode lineup. New cast members Tommy Flanagan and Dan Fogler join the returning star-studded ensemble. The release is set for 2026.

After keeping us on the edge of our seats, House of the Dragon is officially back in action! Season 3 of the hit series is now in the works and the production has already started. The cast is back, and we’ve got some familiar faces plus a few new ones to keep things spicy. Season three will once again consist of eight episodes.

In exciting news, House of the Dragon has revealed two new cast members for the upcoming season! Tommy Flanagan, known for his role in Sons of Anarchy, will be playing Ser Roderick Dustin, while Dan Fogler, who starred in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, will take on the role of Ser Torrhen Manderly.

The show has also unveiled its talented lineup of directors for the new season: Clare Kilner, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Andrij Parekh, and Loni Peristere.

With filming officially underway, it looks like House of the Dragon season 3 is gearing up for a 2026 release!

The new season will feature a star-studded cast, joining the already impressive ensemble. Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, and Abubakar Salim will all be returning to bring the drama to life once again.

House of the Dragon, based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, takes us back 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, diving deep into the tumultuous history of House Targaryen.

The series is helmed by showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal, with Martin himself on board as co-creator and executive producer. The team also includes executive producers Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock, and Philippa Goslett.
