Heo’s Diner, featuring EXO’s Xiumin and WJSN’s Exy, mixes history, romance, mystery and humour as it tells the story of Heo Gyun, who travels 400 years into the modern world from the Joseon Dynasty. Makers of Heo’s Diner dropped a fun couple poster, featuring Xiumin dressed in a traditional Hanbok from Joseon Dynasty and Exy in modern attire. The image hints at the duo’s quirky characters and suggests that, despite initial hesitation, they might begin to fall for each other. The series, based on a popular web novel of the same name, also stars Lee Sae-on, Lee Soo-min, Kim Hee-jung, Oh Ji-ho, and Choi Won-myeong in important roles.
The poster mainly highlights the fun and heartwarming chemistry between the two characters. The background text reads, “The Ultimate Chemistry Hotspot” and “Heo-chelin,” a combination of ‘Heo Gyun’ with ‘Michelin.’ The design of the poster looks like a flyer, which describes Heo Gyun, as a brilliant chef and Bong Eun Sil as a culinary disaster who struggles with cooking.
In the Joseon era, many strict rules were applied by the kings and certain groups faced discrimination. Heo Gyun, played by Xiumin, was known for challenging these rules and became a controversial figure. One day, he unexpectedly travels 400 years into the future, where he is rescued by a mother and daughter who run a restaurant. He starts working with them, and at first, everything seems to go smoothly. However, after a sudden accident, Heo Gyun finds himself searching for the person responsible for the crime.
Exy steps into the shoes of Bong Eun-sil, while Xiumin plays Heo Gyun. Lee Sae-on will appear as Lee Hyuk, a chef at the restaurant who has his own ambitions and Lee Soo-min plays Jung Mi-sol, a well known star.
As per All Kpop, a spokesperson from Heo’s Diner’s production stated, “Through the restaurant flyer concept, we aimed to capture a warm and familiar sentiment. We hope viewers will enjoy the exciting stories that unfold in Heo’s Diner.”
Directed by Oh Hwan-min and Kim Kyeong-eu, Heo’s Diner, featuring EXO’s Xiumin and WJSN’s Exy, is set to premiere on March 24.
