Feel proud to be run-out by MS Dhoni, says Rajasthan Royals batter Dhruv Jurel

IPL 2023: Rajasthan RoyalsDhruv Jurel, who played a crucial knock in his team’s victory over Chennai Super Kings on Thursday, said that he was lucky and feel prouds to be run-out by Chennai skipper M.S. Dhoni during the match. Jurel was run out by a bullseye throw from Dhoni.

“I’m fortunate enough to share the field with MS Dhoni. Since childhood, I have always dreamt of it while watching him represent the nation. I don’t feel the pressure; I feel motivated. He’s behind me, and he’s watching me, that’s enough for me,” Jurel said after his team’s 34-run victory over Chennai Super Kings.

Rajasthan Royals young batter Dhruv Jurel played a blistering 15-ball 34 to help his side to post a challenging total of 202/5 in 20 overs. His knock included three fours and two sixes in his quick cameo which gave Rajasthan much-needed momentum in the fag end of their innings.
Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s attacking fifty (77 off 43) followed by clinical bowling performance by Adam Zampa (3-22) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2-35) led Rajasthan Royals to a convincing 32-run win over Chennai Super Kings

Dhoni also lauded Rajasthan Royals batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel for playing a match-winning knock against his team. “Yashasvi batted really well, important to go after the bowlers, and took calculated risks. It was slightly easier against our bowlers because we had to assess the right lengths. Even then Yashasvi batted well at the top and at the end, Jurel batted really well,” said Dhoni at the post-match presentation.

Dhoni also felt that his side also gave away too many runs in the first six overs. “It (target) was quite a bit above par. The reason was the first six overs, gave too many runs, but at the same time, the pitch was best to bat on at that time. Even when they were finishing, the edges kept going for boundaries. They got a par+ score and we were not able to stop the runs,” he said.

Speaking about his cameo knock Jurel said, “I’m very feeling really good and happy that we won the match. It’s a much-needed win for us. My mantra is to bat, and rest will take care of itself. I just played the situation and I’ve done three-four hours of batting every day.” On top of the points table, Rajasthan will now face five-time winners Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday evening.
