There is finally something to show for when it comes to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The movie, which releases three months later on December 20, 2023, just had its teaser released. This 30-second teaser will be followed by a full trailer that releases on September 15, 2023.
As is the case with teaser trailers, there’s not a lot to dig into but there are some takeaways from the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s latest clip. One of the obvious ones is Black Manta is coming for Aquaman. Black Manta was in the first Aquaman movie, he was played by actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Apart from his return, we also got a glimpse of Patrick Wilson returning as Orm, Aquaman’s step-brother and former king of Atlantis.
There were some action shots too, as well as a scene where Aquaman, portrayed by Jason Momoa, finds his house burning, presumably at the hands of Black Manta. It’s suggestive that Aquaman’s father may have been killed in the house fire, but I guess we will find out when the movie arrives.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the last movie from the DCEU, which is set to end as James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU is gearing up to start a new universe, which will be kicked off by Superman: Legacy in 2025. As for Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, it remains to be seen if the actor and his version of Atlantis’ king survive the reset or not.
