Chief Executive Officer of Serum Institute of India (SII) Adar Poonawalla on April 12 said that SII has appealed to the Union Government to reduce the duration of 9 months to 6 months between the gap of 2nd dose and a booster dose of COVID. “The (vaccine inoculation) uptick right now is a bit slow. Because we have got this rule that you have to wait for 9 months between doses 2 and 3. We have appealed to the government on how to reduce this further to 6 months, will propose the 6-month gap,” he said.
