2022 TVS Jupiter Classic India launch price Rs. 85,866

The Jupiter Classic has been updated with black mirrors, handlebar ends and two new colours.

TVS has launched the updated Jupiter Classic at Rs. 85,866 in India, making it the new flagship of the Jupiter range. Like before, the Jupiter Classic gets different colour schemes and a host of premium cosmetic touches to differentiate it from the other variants, but it has now been updated with black mirrors, handlebar ends and two new colours.

TVS Jupiter Classic: Cosmetic changes

The Jupiter Classic gets a number of cosmetic touches to make it stand out when compared to the other variants. It gets a tinted visor at the front and brown body panels (other variants of the Jupiter get black ones). The mirrors also get a black finish compared to the chrome finish on the other variants. The Jupiter Classic’s diamond-cut wheels have a design which is similar to the ones seen on the Jupiter 125.

The front apron gets new graphics as well, with Jupiter badging now running across it from top to bottom. On the front apron, there is a ‘5 million’ badge as well, a reminder of just how popular TVS scooters are in India.

TVS Jupiter Classic: Underpinnings

While a lot has changed on the cosmetic front, mechanically, the Jupiter Classic sports the same underpinnings as the other variants. The 109.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine is good for 7.8hp at 7,500rpm and 8.8 Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. As is the norm, this engine is mated to both an electric starter as well as a kick starter. Both tyres are 12-inch units with the same sizes of 90/90-12 (front and rear). The braking hardware comprises a disc at the front and a drum brake at the rear. Suspending this 109kg scooter is a telescopic fork and 3-step adjustable twin shock absorbers.

TVS Jupiter Classic: Price and rivals

TVS has priced the Jupiter Classic at Rs. 85,866, making it Rs. 2,220 more expensive than the TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect and Rs. 5,000 dearer than the previous model. Rivals to the Jupiter Classic include the Honda Activa Premium Edition (which costs Rs. 10,000 less) and the Hero Pleasure.
